hi all,
have any of you held, seen, petted, etc, a chinchilla? for those of you that don't know what a chinchilla is, it's like a cross between a rabbit and a guinea pig. it has soft fur--softer than a cottonball. it has a very coarse tail, and long ears. it hops kind of, it can jump over things. my friend has one, it's name is roo, it is so cute!
Those things are adorable. They keep a few at my dad's firehouse and I've held them a few times. They do have very soft fur, though it's also very dusty since they like to roll around in shavings and things like that.
a chinchilla you say and ask question of whether one has given say a friendly petting to..?? Well, I must admit that I have not and yet please give me opportunity to express my little sence of humor... Roo, you say is the name of one.. hmm now, there was Mamma Kanga and Baby Roo of Winnie the Pooh Land. *Smile* Can you possibly imagine a chinchilla the size of a Baby KangaROO..??? Big Smile going Hop Hop!!* This is CG, one who can be given to appreciate the lovliness of the soft fur of a Bunny Rabbit. {Purr-fur-abull-ly one that is ALIVE!!!}
well, they're dusty 'cause...well, does your dad give them sand baths? and no, she was called roo because she hopps, as a kangaroo would.
hello, lol cg. Forgive me but I have to laugh at that remark. Well never heard of such an animal sounds interesting bfn all
...just wondering if Roo The chinchilla makes any particular sounds? , like for instance every once in a while when in the midst of Seagulls flying, soaring or simply sand-a-shore walking the beaches, well, now, hm, every once in awhile one is given to make the sound of Laughter, as it were.....
I love chinchillas. I held one when I was about swix, and it was so soft and nice and friendly lol! Alison, could you tell us about the site, theo ne you may adopt this animal from? Maybe others would liek to check out the site? Lol?

and there are some for sale. problem: there in, like england...I e-maled them to see how they deliver there chinchillas to out-of-state people. so...yeah! chinchillas! o yeah! I get first dibbs on fudge! lol.
So have you gotten an answer on how they deliver the chinchillas out of state? Just wondering. And dont' worry my parents won't let me have a pet. Sobs. Not 'til a guide dog.
Caitlin
no not yet.
I've never owned one, but I'm interested. I've held rabits and ghinney pigs, and gerbles before, and I used to have pet rats, so I think i might be up to the challenge. Oh, and to Caitlin, honey, if your parents won't even let you have a little rodent then you will never be ready for a guidedog. It's not just about mobility. You need experience as a pet owner, if not a dog owner. Tell them that you need some practice. Start with a Ghinny pig or a fish, and then work up to a cat or an adult dog, then you will be ready for a guide dog when the time comes. If you don't you'll be at a loss. Dogs require a lot more work then a rodent or a bird that you can keep in a cage. A guide dog isn't a pet by the way, never a pet. They are working animals, partners, and sometimes children, but not pets.
